On the morning of Friday, 11 July 2025, we had the privilege of hosting Professor Rui Yang, Dean of Education at HKU, for a tour of our latest advancements in AI-driven educational technologies, showcasing both innovative software solutions and cutting-edge hardware applications.
During the visit, we introduced our various flagship AI tools: Student Buddy, an intelligent learning assistant designed to support students’ learning, and Super TA, an AI-powered teaching assistant tailored for educators, which leverages Professor Cecilia Chan’s AI Assessment Integration Framework to support assessment design.
We also demonstrated our eye-tracking software, which utilizes real-time analytics to interpret body movements and facial expressions, as well our hardware tools, including a 3D projection fan and a robot study buddy, both of which will be integral to our exploration of the future of AI-integrated pedagogy.
To conclude Professor Yang’s visit, we demonstrated how AI can transform a simple photo taken earlier in the morning into a dynamic video, showcasing the potential of AI in creative applications.
In the afternoon, we hosted the assistant principal and STEM teachers from G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College at our lab, presenting our range tools and applications to them as well. The session sparked discussions on applying these technologies in secondary education, laying groundwork for future collaboration.
Overall, these engagements highlighted AI’s transformative potential in education across learning contexts, fostered meaningful dialogue on its practical implementation, and showcased our team’s commitment to driving innovation and forward-thinking solutions in teaching and learning.
