On 3 November 2025, Professor Cecilia Chan concluded the “Assessment in the AI Era” seminar series at The University of Hong Kong with a hands-on workshop on designing future-proof assessments. Titled “Future-Proofing Assessment: From Tradition to Transformation,” the session equipped educators with practical strategies to maintain academic rigor while adapting to AI advancements.

In the session, Professor Chan explored critical assessment challenges across both the traditional and AI-driven environments. She introduced practical strategies for assessment redesign and presented her AI Assessment Integration Framework – a strategic tool to help educators create meaningful evaluations that prioritise students’ authentic thinking, skill demonstration, and application of knowledge.

Throughout the workshop, Professor Chan emphasised that despite the rapid development of AI and related emerging technologies, the human essence of education and the fundamental purpose of learning remain unchanged.
