25 August 2026 - Professor Cecilia Chan Delivered Keynote Talk at the JC InnoPower: REAL Impact Kick-off Ceremony

Professor Cecilia K. Y. Chan was invited to deliver a keynote talk at the kick-off ceremony of the JC InnoPower: REAL Impact – AI-Driven Sustainable Talent Programme, held at Kowloon True Light School on 25 August 2026. The ceremony marked the launch of the programme and brought together education leaders, academics, principals, teachers and student representatives from participating schools.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Dr Jeff Sze Chun-Fai, JP, Under Secretary for Education; Ms Winnie Ying, Head of Charities, Education & Youth Cluster, The Hong Kong Jockey Club; and Ms Lee Yi Ying, Principal of Kowloon True Light School. Professors, guest speakers, tutors, and representatives from 13 core schools also took part in the ceremony.

Professor Chan delivered the keynote talk entitled “Empowering Leaders: AI Literacy for a Future-Ready World,” focusing on the importance of AI literacy in preparing education leaders and school communities for future-ready learning.

The ceremony also featured a programme introduction by student representatives of Kowloon True Light School. The event provided opportunities for exchange among education leaders, academics, principals and teachers, supporting cross-school dialogue on AI literacy, educational innovation and future-ready learning.

The participating schools included Diocesan Boys’ School, La Salle College, Pope Paul VI College, Pui Ching Middle School, Queen’s College, Shatin Pui Ying College, Shung Tak Catholic English College, St. Joseph’s College, St. Mary’s Canossian College, St. Paul’s School (Lam Tin), St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, True Light Girls’ College, and Kowloon True Light School.

The kick-off ceremony highlighted the value of collaboration among schools, universities and education partners in advancing responsible and meaningful AI adoption in learning and teaching. Professor Chan looks forward to continued engagement with schools and partners in supporting AI literacy and future-ready education.
