AI Workshop for Hong Kong Secondary School Teachers – First Session (20 September 2025)
On 20 September 2025, Professor Cecilia Chan and Ms. Cailing Gao led an interactive AI workshop at The University of Hong Kong for local secondary school teachers and school leaders. The session, as part of the AI in Education Lab’s AI for Science Education Programme, focused on practical ways to use generative AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT in secondary science education.
Participants engaged in hands-on demonstrations and discussions on how AI technologies can support lesson design, assessment, and classroom innovation. Professor Chan and Ms. Gao also addressed responsible and ethical use of AI in school contexts, highlighting opportunities and potential challenges faced by secondary educators.
Many participants expressed interest in further exploring how these tools could enhance science education, recognising the need to grow alongside their students in developing AI literacy and applying these technologies responsibly in science teaching and learning.
